checking the mailbox

g'day mates!

well, it's only been 36 hours since I've assumed the role of Blogmaster, and already there's feedback:

"From : adam LN <-----@telus.net> (Email hidden)

Subject : nathanjoseph.blogspot.com

Dear temporary webmaster (Jeff)

I am concerned that your posts are too long. Stop cluttering the page please.

-Adam"

While part of me wants to send this email straight to the spam bin, that would contradict many of my values (I am a proponent of free speech.) As such, I am forced to address it.

I am trying to keep the posts short (and sweet) but at the same time I feel that the blog readers (that's you guys) want as much info as I can type. Nate's making the big move; this is a very exciting time for Nate fans! I would link a short blurb to another page but I don't know how to do that. I don't know how to post pictures either, but I will work on that. I have some old Polaroids I want to scan in.

So, guys, in conclusion, I'm not a professional, cut me some slack. That said, Nathan chose me for a reason, and that's because I'm dedicated to giving you the straight goods, even if "Adam" doesn't like it.

Ok. See you in a few hours, same Nate-time same Nate-URL. (g)

cheers

Jeff

Hello Old Friend,

I am concerned. I know this whole blog is supposed to be a "joke" and that it is all in "good fun". However, I am curious as to why you bleeped out 1 derogatory term in the 50 cent quote and not the other.
I guess I'll chalk that one up to a mistake, as I am sure Nathan is not a fan of racial slurring.

Best, Louisa

Jeff,
I forgive your ignorance when claiming that I am unfarmiliar with the hip hop genre. I am. I have also studied it in depth, as I am a student of art history. I understand that when Fifty Cent uses this term, it is self-refferential. However, when one adds a quote to the end of their post, it is often interpreted that they are substituting their own words ( to be better expressed )by an artist.. You choosing this quote seems somewhat ill-fitting (not being a man of color, that is).

Best, Louisa
